Let's Build A House ... IN AFRICA!!!

The day is finally here and New Image Construction is very excited to announce the launch of a new program we are calling
Buy A House, Build A House!!!

Background

This past year, my wife Ashley had an opportunity to go to Ghana, Africa on a mission trip with the Seed Ministry to work, play, and minister to the children there.

While she was in Ghana The Lord placed on her heart that He wanted us to get involved with building a school in Africa.  As a contractor I thought this would be a fascinating opportunity but I also saw it as a challenge - Africa does happen to be on the other side of the world! After she returned to the states, we prayed and talked about how and where we should get involved over the course of several weeks.

During that time 2 things happened:
1) I was burdened to use my business not only as a means to make a living but also as an avenue to help others.
2) Ashley received an e-mail from Sonrise Ministries, whom she had contacted while searching for a mission trip last year, announcing they had started another ministry in Angoltok, Uganda. This ministry was founded and is lead by Emmanual (Emma), who was born in Angoltok but was orphaned at the age of 7. After his parents death Emma was taken to another village 2 hours away where he grew up. Now that he is grown, Emma has moved back to Angoltok and has taken the only thing his parents left him when they died - a piece of land - and dedicated that to The Lord for His work.  From that piece of land, Angoltok Outreach Center was formed with a long term vision in mind to build a School, an Outreach Center, a Church, and a Medical Clinic.

To read Emma’s heartbreaking and triumphant story as well as AOC’s background visit their website here: http://angoltokoutreach.com/the-lost-clan/

After we received that e-mail it was obvious to us that this was where we should help, so we made contact with the ministry and shared our story. Just a short period of time after our initial contact we finalized the details of Buy A House, Build A House, and here they are….

Buy A House, Build A House - What Is It?

For every house that New Image sells we will donate a portion of the proceeds to go towards the vision and community of Angoltok. The first portion of that money will go towards building or repairing huts (houses) and for the remaining monies we would like it to go towards helping build the school house (but we know they will be able to assess where the money is needed most at that time). Once the money has been donated and whatever it went towards is built or repaired they will send us a picture, which in turn we will make a postcard and send it to the person or family that purchased the house to serve as a reminder that by choosing that house, it also helped someone in Angoltok, Uganda.

A Little More About Angoltok Outreach Center

The village of Angoltok, Uganda is a small unmapped area deep in the heart of Africa. Because the village is so far away from any of the larger cities it has remained unreached resulting in very poor community development. Families living in Angoltok have little or no income and survive only on what they can grow and trade. Most families are caring not only for their own kids, but also for orphaned kids they have taken in from a relative or neighbor.

Currently, the Angoltok Outreach Center (AOC) has launched a nursery school that cares for 280 children. Many of these children face daily life with no medical care, no clean clothes, very little food and many of them have lost one or both parents due to the Kony rebel attacks and diseases such as AIDS. AOC also has a Mercy Ministry where they repair huts and try to provide families with basic needs throughout Angoltok.

How You Can Get Involved

There are several ways you can get involved with Buy A House, Build A House. We realize that not everyone is looking to buy or build a house, that’s why we have partnered with several local businesses to raise money for AOC!

1) We will be having a raffle drawing Saturday, October 26 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Angoltok Outreach Center. Ticket sales will begin next week, October 1 and continue through October 22 (more details to follow).

For a $20 donation, you will have a chance at winning one of the awesome prizes below.

Feeding the nursery school children 1 of their 2 hot meals a day - Something most of them wouldn't get without AOC!
3) If you are looking to buy or build a house and you sign a contract to do so during the launch you will get your choice of a free refrigerator or an upgrade of up to $1000!

4) Share this information with your friends and family. The more raffle tickets we sell the more money goes to reaching the people of Angoltok! New Image has committed to matching up to $1,000 of ticket sale proceeds.

Ashley and I are truly blessed to be given this opportunity and are excited to see what The Lord is going to accomplish through us. If you took the time to read all of this information, THANK YOU and check back soon for more stories from the unmapped village of Angoltok!

Wide Open Entertaining Spaces

One of the latest houses we have had the pleasure of building in Prairie Pass out in Apison is a house that many of you Pinterest users have seen time and time again. Known as one of the most popular rustic craftsman cottage on the internet, this house plan exemplifies an open floor plan and boasts of both modern and craftsman details.

Recognize This?

Making it "Theirs"

As soon as F and E saw this plan, they fell in love with it and knew they wanted to customize it to make it "theirs".

It's All In The Details

While the layout of the floorplan allows for wide open entertaining spaces, the bedrooms are all located on one side of the house which makes it very convenient for those with small children or customers who desire to have a home office. This houseplan also includes a bonus room which F and E customized to include a bedroom as well as a play room for their kids.
